CNN) -- The Saudi lawyer who represented a gang rape victim had his disciplinary hearing for "insulting the Supreme Judicial Council and disobeying the rules and regulations" of the judiciary postponed to an unspecified date, according to The Associated Press.
His client is a teenage rape victim who was sentenced to 200 lashes and six months in prison for violating the kingdom's strict Islamic law by being alone with an unrelated man before the rape.
The attacks took place in Qatif in March 2006 when the woman was 18 and engaged to be married.
Her seven rapists were sentenced to between two to nine years in prison.

in my opinion the seven rapists did not receive enough time in jail ; and the lawyer insulting the Supreme Judicial Council is that like "contempt of court" in Canada ? it is ; the woman did break Islamic law thus is subject to disciplinary action ; but on another hand she suffered enough, maybe at the hands of her attackers in the rape ; and probably shamed her family ; i recall in our history in the West ; you had to have a chaperon with you on a date ;
