Report calls for RCMP to split from federal government
A report released Friday recommended sweeping changes to the RCMP, which would include establishing the force as a separate entity from the federal government, with its own civilian board of managers.
The Task Force on Governance and Cultural Change in the RCMP, headed by Toronto lawyer David Brown also called for the creation of a new independent commission that would hear complaints.
